So, Who am I. In short, I’m nobody. We live in a day when titles are used as a part of our authority. We might claim to be a pastor, prophet or Apostle. We might stand on a doctorate. The reality is that God needs to stay in charge and we need to stay as His servants and not trying to be masters. In Truth, The Lord is our master and we don’t ever need to forget it. I we do forget, be sure the Lord will quickly put us in our place. Let’s look at a scripture.
2Corinthians 3:1-6(NKJV)
Do we begin again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as some others, epistles of commendation to you or letters of commendation from you? 2 You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; 3 clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart. 4 And we have such trust through Christ toward God. 5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, 6 who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the [a]Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
As we were sent from one city church to another, a letter of commendation would be sent with them as a form of introduction. This would help in a time of great persecution and a church would need to be “safe”. So, they would rely on the letter of recommendation. As scripture states above this is problematic and we need to better be introduced by the spirit instead.
I pray always that if anyone gets to knows me that the spirt of God would make that introduction instead of men. That should/would be all of me both good and bad so that I’m never seen as perfect as He was.
